Publication Ethics
DAAR EL-KAMIL: Multidisciplinary Journal is a peer-reviewed international journal. This ethical statement outlines the responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, the Editorial Board, and the publisher (STEBI BAMA)—as well as procedures related to allegations of research misconduct. This statement is based on the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
✒️ Ethical Guidelines for Publishing
Publishing in a peer-reviewed journal is a vital part of developing a credible body of academic knowledge. It reflects the quality and integrity of the authors’ research and their institutions. Therefore, all parties—authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers—must adhere to high ethical standards.
As the publisher, STEBI BAMA is fully committed to ensuring ethical integrity throughout the publication process. All editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by commercial interests. The editorial team and STEBI BAMA will also cooperate with other journals or institutions as needed to uphold ethical publication practices.
???? Research Misconduct
Research misconduct includes fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, and citation manipulation. In cases of suspected misconduct, the editorial team will initiate an investigation in accordance with COPE guidelines. If confirmed, the manuscript will be rejected, or if already published, a retraction will be issued and linked to the original article.
The process begins with an initial assessment of the validity of the allegation and any potential conflicts of interest. If the case is serious, the corresponding author will be contacted to respond on behalf of all co-authors. Further expert evaluation may be involved. In minor cases, clarification or correction may suffice. Institutions are expected to conduct thorough investigations into major allegations.
???? Editorial Responsibilities
The editor-in-chief has the final authority in deciding which manuscripts are accepted for publication, based on their academic quality and relevance. Editors may seek input from reviewers and editorial board members. All decisions are made without regard to race, gender, religion, ethnicity, or political affiliation.
Editors and editorial staff are obligated to maintain confidentiality and must not share manuscript details with unauthorized individuals. Unpublished materials must not be used for personal research without written permission from the author.
???? Reviewers’ Responsibilities
Reviewers support the editorial decision-making process and help authors improve their work. Reviews must be objective, constructive, and professional. Reviewers should identify any uncited sources, potential plagiarism, or significant content overlap.
Manuscripts must be treated as confidential documents, and reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest, including personal or professional relationships with the authors.
✍️ Authors’ Responsibilities
Originality: Authors must ensure their work is original and that any use of others’ work is properly cited.
Accuracy: Data must be reported honestly and completely.
Plagiarism: All submitted manuscripts must be plagiarism-free.
Multiple Submissions: Manuscripts should not be submitted to more than one journal simultaneously.
Authorship: Only those who contributed significantly should be listed as authors. All authors must approve the final version and its submission.
Conflict of Interest: All potential conflicts must be disclosed.
Data Retention: Authors must retain and, if needed, provide access to research data.
Error Reporting: Authors must promptly notify the editor if errors are found after publication.
???? Ethical Oversight
Research involving humans, animals, chemicals, or sensitive data must follow ethical standards. Authors must clearly state any ethical considerations and provide proof of ethical clearance if required.
